Hi All,

Just wanted to share my rather amusing morning with you all,

I am currently turning my lot out at about 6.30am so its still kind of dark.. Popped Tia out first, of she went trotting down her paddock, next came back and popped Danny out - then came back for Dandelion (the adorable yet slightly evil shetland) and popped him out..

Was walking back to the yard and could hear snorting, thundering hooves and a general performance..turned to see what was up - could not see anything...

The two boys then settled (grass is far far more important to them than using any effort to whizz round the field) but Tia was still snorting and doing a rather fabulous extended trot back to piaffe performance with her tail up like a flag and her nostrils open about ten times their normal size snorting like a mad thing at the bottom of the field..

Its now getting slightly lighter so I decided to have a walk down and see what all the fuss was about... and there it was.... a few feet from the back of her field.....

A half deflated bright blue helium baloon just lingering about 3 feet off the floor!!!!!!!!!!

Tia was most impressed that her ultra brave mum removed said horse eating demon (without snorting and performing like a derranged maniac)...

God knows where it came from - my yard is seriously in the middle of nowhere.

Within 30 secs of the horse eating alien being removed peace was restored and happy horses were left munching whilst I came to work!

haha - it was funny!

Whats the most odd thing you have found in the field.....

and the orange netting that peanuts come in for birds.

very scary :P

poor pony.

We dont get much in our field, although my had taken down some fencing that we no loonger needed in our field and put it near the gate and our two wouldnt go near it, but when i moved they would ocme out the gate, horses really are strange animals
x

nothing in the field but yesterday there was no baling twine so loosely wrapped lead rope around metal bar while I fetched hoof pick from inside stable (about 2m away from where horse was tied up). I come out to find horse has pulled away and lead rope is trailing on ground. Horse walks towards me, que scary snake thing following horsey!! He froze and gave me the funniest look as if to say "Mum there's some scary snake monster trying to follow meeee!" lol.

We keep finding a single apple smack bang in the middle of the one field in perfect condition. Always this one field and always in the same place. Weird thing is though, there are no apple trees anywhere near me that it could get accidently blown off etc so someone have to be walking over the yard and up the field to put it there...?!?!

Broom ends :| the bristley bit...
No idea where they come from.. a new one every couple of months lol!

They are from crows and rooks. We have a big walnut tree on our land and over the last week it has been stripped out, there has been up to 20 at a time, flying in and out!
Also find the shells in the troughs and even some on the horse poo yesterday, was on the top though, not been "through" the horse!

Had a charity balloon with a note attached a few weeks ago in the field. Does that count?

Oh, and a Muntjac deer(sp)- horses nearly pooed themselves when it darted through!

PMSL! Don't you just love them!

We had a similar experience on the morning we turned out following haylage baling!

LOL!
One of the laminated name tags had fallen off a horses stall a few weeks ago, horse walked past it everyday when on wall . . . but when on the floor......ARGH WHATS THAT?!?!

OH MY GOD! hahahaha Merry 44 wins the most random item found in the field award!

Closely followed by hollyandivy with the bra and thong hahahaha

I have seen some seriously hilarious 'adult' sights out hacking - but never found any souveniers in the field - thank god!

LOL
