Eye problems

My crossbreed is on the operating table as we speak having surgery on her eye. She's had an ulcer on her cornea for about a month and it's refusing to heal - it starts to improve but then it flares up again. They are "gridding" the ulcer, I think the vet called it.

Anybody had any experience of this sort of thing? Any tips on helping her to recover as quickly as possible please?

Can't add too much, my dog had a corneal ulcer, noticed one day he would barely open his eye and whipped him straight to the vets. He was on eye drops which thankfully helped it heal. They did say if it didn't heal well he would have to have it surgically removed. From what I remember the vet saying about the surgery, they do make a quick recovery. Fingers crossed your one gets better soon.
