Hi- can anyone advise or have any experience please- ive had my new horse a couple of weeks, and she has had a slightly runny eye, when out riding today she was trying to rub one side of her face quite a lot. upon inspection it looks like one half of her top eye lid is turned under- this means that half her eye lashes are laying against the eyeball- which must be increadibly irritating. i have bathed with water and try to manipulate back........ not sure if it was like this when i bought her and i failed to spot it or wether shes rubbed it and done something more recently. not sure if this is something that i can correct or more serious?? doesnt seem to bother her too much. any suggestions or experiences.......before i call the vet . thanks

IIRC it's called entropion and it is incredibly irritating. Was she not vetted?

You can try pulling the eyelid "out" and hope it works, alternatively there is an op to correct it.

It's on my mind atm as we check all newborn lambs for it - corrected manually at birth it seems to stay cured.

It could be an infection of the eyelids or eye. Never mess around with eyes, vet as soon as poss and I would give her some bute tonight to lessen the discomfort and avoid more rubbing.
