This is a warning for others in this area>>>
When I went to feed and turn my ponies out in the morning, my riding mare and my not long gelded Welsh pony were running around my stable yard together, they were brought in the night before. I had been introducing my gelding to the mares gradually since he was gelded, he was just thrown in the deep end. Both had a few cuts on their legs, nothing major! My little Welsh A pony was still in her stable with a pitchfork, shovel, broom, bit of old wood thrown inside, she was shaking because she heard me come on the yard.
My stallion had a shovel and wood thrown in his stable, he was hit because his eye and face were cut, not deep but sore. He would not go near me at first, being a stallion, he is usually so cheeky and always by his door to say hello.
The yard had stuff thrown everywhere, my old caravan broken into AGAIN My ponies must have been so frightened, my mare flinched when I checked her over, one of the stables had my old bike thrown in it, with my pony still inside maybe? The geldings stable had some wood we just bought to do out a small trailer thrown everywhere, they even threw a cup at him as bits of it were in his straw bed. Buckets, old brushes, all in his stable.
We also keep a couple of ponies in a field fairly near the stable yard, that was vandalised too, things were everywhere, the water tap broken, electric fencing all ripped down.
I have already posted a warning to local people near me. What do these thugs get out of this, someone said it might be children but I just can not believe they would want to scare and hurt ponies this way. If you know of anyone that keeps livestock close to this area, please warn them as I have been told of a similar sad story today by another horse owner.
Thank you.
