Had a blissful morning in the sun with my Beastlets this morning. I schooled Charlie my 18 year old TB and then took him into the big field for a canter followed by a pop over some little logs. He's not jumped for months but was fab :D Then a friend came over and we went for a nice hack together :)

Once Charlie was sorted I got Missi in to do some work. Was going to hack her but decided to give her a school instead. I've barely schooled her since I got her in September, yesterday I did a little bit but that was after a hack, today was our first full session.

I was so pleased with her, can't believe how different her attitude is now! There was no napping, no broncing/bucking when I put my leg on and no explosions when I touched her with my whip. She didn't really put a toe out of line :D

Schooling wise we both have a lot to work on. I rode like an utter pleb. Need to sit up more, shoulders back and get my leg underneath me as well as a million other things. I felt that she needed a bit more impulsion and needs to be a bit more consistent and listen to my leg! She is also a bit gobby so I'm going to get her teeth checked and have a play with some different bits. So lots to be working on but I'm chuffed that I can get on and ride and actually enjoy her!! She's like a different horse to the nappy, explosive thing she was a couple of months ago!

A few customary pics, only trot ones as I don't think Mum's nerves would have held had I cantered when she was there  :p CC welcome as always.

Can't wait to get cracking with lessons and little outings now:D

Mmmmm ..... I love missi - she looks fab

Thanks, she is rather yummy but I am pretty bias :p

Lovely horse op! Suggest dropping your stirrups couple of holes, see if that helps draw your lower leg back, also lots of work without stirrups may help:)

I definitley need to drop my stirrups, I did put them down one hole today but they need to go down at least a couple more. Now I feel relatively safe on her I can do that whereas they've been short for months to help during the 'oh ****' moments  :o

not any good at CC, but shes so pretty, and also so jel of how lush your grass looks!

I'm very lucky to have recently found these fields (and stables) to move them too, my own field is still completely bare!!
