tonight was the all important dengie qualifier
so we boxed up and friend and i set off at 8pm for the comp in newry... arrived and class hadnt started yet
so waited till 9pm and of we went!
had AGES to wait in the queue - no number order, just line up when ready! so went off and woke him up. we continued our "new" style of jumping, ie. loose rein and let him get on with it with me acting as the ignition
so a little slapdash and a little long in the warm up round, then we quickened for the proper round, as we needed to get together! all went well and he started to really jump through his back and was quicker in front (still have a long way to go
) we went clear and into the jump off! and friend was also through
so into the speed, and i was 4th to go, after my friend
who went clear in 36.?? (she is on a nippy little pony) and then me on my rangy 16.2 went in... we had the best turn ever around 2 to 3, it was so smooth and we hit it bang on
and i really asked him to motor on and we went clear in 35.565!! we came 3rd
and we qualified
and so did friend as she finished 4th
soo pleased with him as his jumping went better and better! and the judge commented on him twice for being so pretty and shiney! we also had tinsel in our mane on the plaits, so got extra comments about that
so we decided to do the 1.10 as a bit of fun
and my horse was amazing! we have never jumped above 1m and he was fab! really making an effort
and we came 2nd!
