Ok so after the lows of schooling last week to the highs of a lesson tonight

Pidge worked really well and dropped and lifted (eventually

) at trot and maintained it for a good 5 minutes which had me grinning whilst riding him

So have local riding show on Sunday, should I just enter the small jumping 1'9" - 2' (can't do 2'3" class as won championship last year so can't enter this year
frown.gif
) and the small working hunter and possibly ridden hunter? or should I bite the bullet and do the walk and trot dressage or the prelim? Last month did the walk and trot and ended up cantering a lot of it as he was feeling so good

Good to hear things are going well

Hmmm, you don't want to overdo things, 2 jumping classes and 1 ridden class would be enough IMO, but if you think that Pidge is fine doing 4 classes do the Prelim, is it on early or late in the day? If it's on late he won't be as fresh and excitable.

Cheers

wouldn't be doing all those classes god me and Pidge would be knackered and I'd be skint

Just wondered whether its worthwhile doing a dressage test or waiting till his flatwork is better? Would only do classes possibly 3 maximum.

hmm but the way he was last month I didn't even bother getting score sheet
crazy.gif
am I better spending my money and time on the jumping which he adores and is good at and wait till later for dressage when he is better at home?

Why not plan to do the walk/trot test & the working hunter - covers everything & you get the most bangs for your buck, see? lol
If you feel up to it, you can decide on the day whether or not to do the 2' jumping as well?

now that sounds like a plan Jane

Thanks again for all your help and hospitality on Sunday and the baggage is nowhere near as bad as you make out

I'm just an old meany, so the thought of getting dressage, showing AND jumping out of just two classes is quite appealing! lol

I am proud to say she is now so good, she's verging on dull! I no longer peer up the road in terror when she hacks out & the Baggage stood stock still on the drive tonight, as car after car zoomed past - she's so good, bless her!

No, she's a lazy little c*w, unless there's a rosette involved, whereupon she develops a sudden grim determination!

yes WH is appealing like that isn't it, and who knows if its not judged on flatwork alone we may even get a rosette

So is a name change in order for the Baggage then perhaps Angel?
