Face markings on roan horses

Is it common for roan horses ( particularly blue roan horses ) to have white face markings? In most pictures of roan horses that I have seen, the do not have any.

Now you've got me thinking! I think most of the ones I have seen have had dark faces, but I'm sure its a coincidence rather than anything else.

Bay roan - just a tiny white bit.

Also a bay roan but with Appy gene pool and is getting whiter with age. Not a great photo but the star on her head has been there since she was born. It's getting a lot less obvious as she gets older. Off to have a look at the blue roans on the heavy horse sites now to see what they have for their white markings!
