I mean really? Why did they get it in the first place! No don't answer that I know exactly why.

I'd be the same, I've had dogs most of my life until recently but I wouldn't take on this kind of dog. One of my ex husbands friends got divorced and volunteered us to look after his husky while he found a new house. It turned out that he had never been taught basic manners, my own collie didn't like him and given his lack of manners and the very little control anyone had of him I was wary of him because he was so powerful I was very aware of the damage he could do to me or my dogs and to top it off we lived on a sheep farm at the time with a completely unfenced garden and it was a constant worry that he'd get out without anyone attached to him to stop him. We contacted the friend to ask him to find somewhere else to keep the dog, he didn't so I drove it to the local kennels and dropped it off, amazingly they agreed to take it and I gave them the owners details.

Someone I know (I must stress just an acquaintance!) bought an Akita as a first pet.
it was not appropriately socialised with other dogs/people from the get go, too much silly rough play.

it attacked a relatives terrier, biting through the relatives hand when trying to separate.
it attacked their friend in the pub (unprovoked) they needed surgery to close the wound on their face.

It then went to a person who specialised in this type of dog who had no success with it whatsoever and recommended it be PTS.

honestly. Why do people insist on getting dogs like this to leave them in the house all day and take it for a walk round the block?
working breeds (spaniels, sheepdog types) need “work” but these husky Akita wolf dogs are a different kettle of fish altogether.

It’s ultimately not the dogs fault but the daft bloody owners that seal their fate!

Well tbh only a deeply insecure dick would want a dog that purports to be a wolf. Yes they are dead cool and everyone enjoyed GOT but hello...reality...

It's not a breed though, unfortunately- although it says Northern Inuit on the post initially, it later says "Caledonian Wolfalike"- so a mongrel that's been bred to look like a wolf. I don't think a breed specific rescue will take it. The Northern Inuit Society in the UK will take responsibility for dogs it has registered as a breed rescue as well, but it doesn't sound like this dog will have been registered.

I hope he finds his way to someone who can help him eventually, though!

Yes this is what I thought, a breed rescue is what he needs. Although a fair point that on closer inspection it doesn't actually appear to be any recognized breed.

I would guess husky or malamute cross, but could possibly be something even more exotic involved like a Czech Wolfdog.

Either way, clearly he's a big, unpredictable dog who needs someone experienced who can hopefully turn him around.

Northern Inuits can’t be KC registered, so the advert is talking crap before you even get to the horrific ’written by the dog’ advert.

its just nonsense any way you look at it. They got a designer dog (in this case more like a wolf) and then couldn't handle it and want rid. I fear the poor animal will end up in serious trouble and be PTS.

Not the first "I'm having to rehome my beautiful...." I've seen but the daftest.

I did reply to one I saw recently to rehome a 13 year old dog for £50. I mean come on. ? (Told them to either contact the oldies rescue or take it to the dogs trust or similar)

Wanting that amount of money to essentially re-home a problem dog is insane. There's a guy local to me that has wolf dogs and he's amazing with them but will freely admit that he knows they are dogs he can never 100% trust. I would imagine he's the type who would consider taking this dog but he definitely wouldn't pay that money for a dog that someone has clearly messed up with.
