So I tried my mare bareback for the first time last night. I was so happy with how it went I just had to post a picture on Facebook with a caption about "riding bareback". WELL, of course the comments shortly followed from male friends making sexual innuendos. Oopsy! Sometimes I forgot that horsey talk can sound a bit rude hehe!!

I second icharles. Often I feel I want two accounts, one for just horsey people who understand what I'm on about, and another for the painstaking list of ex school friends, acquaintances and long distance family.

It always annoys me when people make crude comments like that x

Me too, I normally have a massive sense of humour failure.

I do have two facebook identities. My family think I am a stuffy old whatsit who never uses facebook. Little do they know, my alter ego is having a great time

I do sometimes post things like that intentionally but as most of my friends know Im horsey they tend to ignore it.

I did say when we were having heavy rain that I came home to a soggy pussy who was highly unimpressed... Flea looks like a gremlin when wet! :D that got some interesting comments lol

It is I think a "man thing". My hair dresser (not gay) really thought that the reason that women rode horses was to get a sexual thrill! He was most disappointed when I put him straight. I think its more based along the lines that only men can be serious about sport. That and that is really mostly what men think about so they assume that is what women do as well

Here is the picture. I had my body protector on under my jacket, I was not taking any chances as it was my first ever time riding bareback. My girl was amazing, infact she actually was more willing to work in the school than when she has a saddle on!

She's lovely :) I have a very close friend who has the dirtiest mind ever, so talking to him about horses is rather hilarious. Got him riding my mare now as well so he's been finding even more things to say :P Luckily I think it's hilarious, and he never says anything 'rude' publicly on Facebook etc he just says it to my face or over text instead haha.

I second using lists on facebook. Quite useful. I try not to inflict too much horsey stuff on uni friends/other/family.

Can't quote but I have 2 facebooks... 1 for all my friends that I rarely use and the other for horsey groups! My friends would get very annoyed if i constantly shared horsey things when they have no interest!

The lists thing is a good idea, might have to set one up.

I agree to an extent that non-horsey friends might not want to be bombarded with horsey posts but likewise, I do not care about the 5 million photos of their baby sleeping or making a funny face that may be cute to them but to me just looks like they are passing wind. haha :D

or the people who feel the need to update everytime they think, breathe, blink etc. hmmmm....... maybe need to have a clear out of facebook "friends" :p

Im not interested in baby photos either, so any friends that send lots of those my way, I just adjust my settings so I don't see them. Easy peasy.
