Well a certain PP 'NH' video popped up on my feed and it has made me rather confused and angry. I have no idea what it is trying to achieve (anyone care to explain) and the comments have upset me. I know I should not have been drawn into a FB debate (bad Cloball) and this subject has been done to death but someone please tell me that horsemanship is not about " teaching your horse who is boss so they don't run you down" or have I been wrong all these years

Sorry had to let that out in a effort to regain some semblance of sanity.

Is this not the same video that caused all the debate a couple of years ago? I seem to think I've seen this before?

It is a very confused horse though. I don't have time for LP

WTF are they doing to him? And such a good natured horse!! What are they trying to achieve? They are just succeeding in making him head shy and wary of approaching people... and confused.

Is this what it is supposed to look like or have these people misinterpreted it??

I'm a fan of horses living out / barefoot / bitless alongside 'conventional' methods, if it works for the horse and rider but if this is now the reputation of 'natural' horsemanship I don't want t be associated with it!

Goodness it's a one eyed horse too isn't it. She should be banned! Now they are showing the world how to upset horses!

Looks like they want a nervous headshy horse to me. Utter rubbish, i was willing that horse to turn round and give them a boot, but he is clearly too nice.

I believe their thought is that if they wack him round the head with the rope clip enough it will make him nicer on the ground. Absolute load of crap, i have no time for Parelli at all.

My horses have always been well behaved, without the need for any of this - they are reprimanded when they are bad, and praised when good and that seems to work. None are headshy or nervous and respect me/my space.

A couple of people on my yard practice parelli - in all honesy they are kind to their horses but the horses walk allover them.

No FB debate but a HHO PNH debate - very bad Cloball!!

Not seen much of the parellis but didn't like what I saw in that vid, if you want to tech your horse to back up by smacking it, why pay someone all them $$$$ for the priviledge?

Also FB comments were mad! What was the horse doing that was so dangerous? Obvs I haven't seen all the vid but it just seemed to be interested in what was going on, up to the handler to keep their wits about them imo. If you can't handle a horse, get a bike kids.

Yes it is but I think you'll find it was taken 5 or 6 years ago now. As I recall Barney's (the one eyed horse) owner is a member on H&H. Linda Parelli is an absolute goon and why anyone would want her near their horses is beyond my comprehension.

Is that Barney or whatever his name was? No idea what that was trying to achieve, but I can see where that cretinous French bint got her ideas from.

Totally agree with this! Such a beautiful noble animal being treated like cr*p for what purpose? To train him? What on earth do they expect him to learn from that!! He looks very well mannered to put up with that... My boy would be going ballistic and really would have flattened them

:o I know I blame the studying for finals it causes me to procrastinate

The comments were awful why have horses if you are so afraid of them you have to beat them about the head in order to 'stay safe'.

Sorry guys didn't realise it was ancient :S

I find just asking a horse to back up with a simple voice command a lot easier ...anyone else?

The woman is power crazy as well as an idiot.

Yes, I saw that too! It took some effort though for her to get the horse's attention - believe that is what she was trying to do - though not sure!

I do not think you can pull out all the Parelli people over a comb.
I seen a few from them that are working without any violence and are very nice horsey people.

It is not nice that there are such "Parelli people", because these people are the ones who make the image of a good Parelli trainer, broken.

Well.....!

I think for me the first guy just summed it all up.....

The horse was obviously not interested in him and trying to nosey park something out of shot.....did the guy get p****d off or what:!
Check out his body language when the horse said 'whateverrr'!
As for the woman....Lord only knows what she was trying to acheive!
Both she and the guy..... what?!
People pay for this.....?
I used to have a horse that would have taken them both out at the first twist of the rope....pity these horses don't 'have a go'
In my honest opinion....the ONLY reason they would want to treat another living thing like this.....is that they are bullies and afraid....
