Hello. I noticed a few days ago that my horse has some slight facial swelling. Its underneath from her muzzle to her throat. Her cheeks are very slightly up too? I'm thinking that its probably just glands but am interested to hear any other views. i.e do i need to call vet etc?

She had her teeth done last month and i had a peek in her mouth yesterday and i certainly couldn't see anything troubling. She's ok in herself, eating etc. Our grass is very short so im suspecting glands but i'll put a call in to the vet tomorrovv...

I'd be paranoid if there's strangles in your area. Certainly sounds like salivary glands but the $64,000 question is WHAT? Could be just grass glands from chewing but I'd defo get the vet to investigate.
