Facial swelling

Has anyone experienced a horse's face swelling while out? My part-bred Arab seems to swell around her ears and lower jaw line while in the field, but if she comes in, it goes down quite quickly. She was fine during the summer, but has got steadily worse during the winter months and I now want to turn her out 24/7.

Yes, my filly has this, my vet said nothing to worry about its the saliva glads coming up - it usually happens when she changes grass or goes on a bit of slightly richer grass. Thats what it sould like to me.

yeah just glands swelling, mine looks like a hamster in spring and autumn when there is rich grass about!

My friends horse has a gland that swells on one side of her face.

Grass glands, lots of horses get them
