She was lame on front right. I could see it and she was not lame when I tried her. However vet said she can tell she has been lame a while because of hind compensation.
I just wonder if she was buted last week and when he knew I wanted a 5 stage took her off, better to fail and find someone who only wants a 2 stage, than pass on the day to have bloods analysed later ????????????????

Gutted

What a shame, that sucks

Better to find out now rather than later though.

Better to find out now than later when money as exchanged hands. But it is still horrible to think you have found the right horse and then have that news. : (

I have had the exact same scenario last month and I so understand your pain. I was half an hour from taking my new ned home when he failed the vetting on front fore lameness. Vet said had been lame for a while but I had taken him out only three days before and galloped him with not a sign of it

I hope you find another nice horse to love.

Very disappointing, but far better to find out now than once you've got her home and fall in love with her.

Oh no, thats a shame. She looked lovely too. I can't believe people can do that just like that - bute up a horse to falsely sell it as sound. I know it must happen everywhere, but I'm always shocked to hear it - how cruel and heartless, for the horse and the poor buyers.

That is so disappointing!!

As others have said, better to find out now, rather than later.

Happened to us last month, but we found another one, better and nicer, and ....sound!!!

Good luck! There is a horse out there for you, and ((hugs))) as it's a horrible thing to happen when your mind is set on one

gutted for you

but you would be more gutted if you had brought her home and she had gone lame then...did the vendor say anything about her failing?

Poor you! Sorry to hear that! It just goes to show that you weren't being paranoid with what stage vetting you needed afterall! Perhaps a lesson we all can learn from you cruddy misfortune

My friends mare is still for sale if you are interested? She is still at livery in Yorkshire at the moment, but in a few weeks is having to bring her home for the winter, as she needs to save pennies for her wedding fund, and it's too expensive stabling full livery! We're not as far as Yorkshire, we are North Lincolnshire. Our yard isn't too far away from the M180 juntion 4, approximately a five minute drive. xx
