I don't mind getting wet, and as long as I'm riding something that isn't too spooky in a gale then I don't mind. However I draw the line at rain so bad and sideways that you can't open your eyes.
I used to live in north Lancs and hacked a few times a week around the Trough of Bowland in any weather, sometimes it was glorious, like being on top of the world, but when it was bad it was awful. Luckily my then-mare was a hardy sort and didn't mind a good drenching, in winter we'd pick our way up the icy lanes, slipping and sliding all over the place (think spider with roller skates on).
