Fairfax bridle coming unstitched - likely outcome?

Back in May I spent a small fortune buying M a drop snaffle Fairfax. The difference in him was instant and our physio has been impressed with the significant improvement it's made to his usually tense poll, so I was happy to justify the price.

Unfortunately the stitching has already started to come undone on both the headpiece and the noseband. Usually I wouldn't be too fussed, but given the price I am a little disappointed, especially as I've only had it 8 weeks and take good care of it. I've sent pictures to the saddlery that fitted it, but I'm worrying it's going to be a nightmare to get sorted.

Has anyone else had the same thing happen? If so what was the outcome?

That's what I thought, but I didn't know if I was just expecting too much. At a guess it looks like the thread just wasn't finished off properly and is therefore unravelling. It doesn't seem to make much difference to the bridle (as in the leather isn't coming apart) it just looks unsightly and I'm worried later down the line it will completely come apart. The saddler is going to call me when they're in the office so fingers crossed it'll be an easy fix.
 
had a girth split and a headpiece look like indian tat after getting rained on once.

neither time fairfax were interested and said i must have cared for them improperly....their customer service sucks im afraid :( but if your retailer is on the ball, it should get sorted.

Eeek that's slightly worrying. I've just spoken to the saddler, they were surprised with what's happened and have said they'll speak with Fairfax and organise a replacement for me so fingers crossed it won't be a problem as I'll be seriously unimpressed if they refuse to fix something which is quite obviously a manufacturing fault.
 
Im sure you can get it sorted out. somethings like this just happen. I had a pair of PE breeches that came unstitched after 1 month. Had plenty of other pairs that have lasted years. Sometimes you just get the faulty one.
 
My first fairfax noseband bled black dye and it left a grey patch .the saddler returned it and they immediately replaced it FOC .
I can't fault the way they treated me .
 
I work in a equine shop, tbh you shouldn't have much issue with that getting sorted. I so wish I could deal with a genuine problem, I'm sick off people bringing back fly rugs which are ripped to pieces wanting their money back cause the rug is faulty. I just can't believe people actually do it, but honestly that's what I deal with
 
It's up to the retailer to sort it out for you. In such a short time scale and with it being stitching coming undone I can't see you having an issue at all.

I presume she is referring to poor quality leather, originating from India, a topic discussed many times on here. Struggling to think of what else it could mean to be misconstrued!

thanks Sheep :) yes that's exactly what i mean, i am in no way being racist and struggle to see how anyone would make that leap!
