I have a Fairfax snaffle bridle with a cavesson noseband. The noseband had a pressure relief pad at the front but this is causing the noseband to slip to the right or the left and I am constantly having to stop to pull it straight. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Quick question. If it is a cavesson noseband which to me an aesthetic piece of bridlework, why is it tight enough that it slips? Not having a pop, just interested!

Yes I have to get it sit central I would have to do it up tighter than I like it .

I have a copy of the fairfax drop which has the same pressure noseband. Mine will slip a little bit, make sure it is center before doing noseband up and don't worry about having it a little bit tight there is enough padding to spread the pressure around. I have also found it slips less now the padding has settled down and shaped to the nose better/

I do think they do it less as you use them more .but IMO there's a problem with a noseband you have to keep tight to keep straight .
I don't do tight cavessons
Having said that the horse likes it .

I have the same issue with my fairfax drop noseband. I just have to make sure it's completely central and then do it a smidge tighter than I would a normal drop.

I think for the price of those blumming bridles I would be insisting it was corrected.
£500 for a wonky noseband that you have to tighten up to correct - send it back!

The nosebands are not wonky .
I think the issue is if they move they don't move back .
Having said that they get better the more you use them and clean them .
I have to confess usually I don't use the cavesson I use the one I have for my Albion bridles but theres no doubt one horse prefers them .

I have the Fairfax cavesson and the drop. Both can move, but they're used most days and after about 3 months from new they settle down and don't move around.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I was starting to think it was just me. I have a bit more confidence now to persevere a bit longer as the bridle hasn't had a lot of use.
