Ive just bought a beautiful shiney new saddle.....but

Its quite short flaps and short billets, I have used girth extenders as my girths are too short on the odd days i've ridden
I bought a 54" and its till too short:oops:
She aint a beefy girl I swear

I am considering getting longer billets fitted, is this worth doing? Anyone done this? happy or not?
and
are mahoosively long girths (when shaped) shaped in the correct places for an average sized horse?

Any girth recommendations 58"?

leather is new tough which doesn't help

I have mid length billets on my saddle and frankly I find them annoying - they hang below the flap, look messy and don't really serve a purpose. I do tack and leather repairs so could change them if I didn't hate doing girth billets so much. If I was you I'd stick with the short billets the saddle was designed to have and buy a longer girth.

Agreed.

Geriponio just take what you said into account when purchasing, either order several to try, or go to a tackshop with an elbow to elbow measurement to asses some, I just find that online has a much better selection, most tack shops have poorly designed leather girths and synthetic girths with materials that don't work well (such as soft stretchy elastic).

Thanks, yes you're right the angles will change if I adjust the billet lengths, and alter how Fairfax designed the saddle. I'll order something in there are limited options on long girths, infact none in my local tack shop.
