i have the equi trainer from ebay , use it regularly on my 16.3hh warmblood who has had a few tntrums in it & still going strong , my friends big warmblood managed to break a her mark todd one when she started bucking
Before you buy a pessoa or pessoa type piece of equipment have you considered how the thing works? I bascially socks your horse in the mouth everytime it engages it's back legs. I have had dressage lessons off an olympic level dressage rider and she calls them 'torture implememts that put your horse off ever engaging from behind or taking your hand forward'
Just a though before you burn your money on some rope, leather and wool

can you explain how so please?
i have been using one to encourage my horse to stretch down & take the contact , he was very reluctant to do so , learn't how to do so on the pessoa(long & low setting) & now under saddle is much more consistent into the contact & will take the contact down & forward as soon as i ask?
Why do you need one? I was going to use one on my mare to encourage her to work properly and build up her topline but my vet told me to use a chambon instead. We used one and it worked really well, she carries herself much better
Another vote for chambon - if engagement is a problem I get an elasticated tail bandage and tie it to the roller so it goes round their hind legs pessoa-style too.
Cost me £15 for chambon, £3 for bandage, does the job perfectly.
