My friend who owns a tack shop has decided to have a bit of a sale on certain winter rugs,Fal are bringing out a new version of their slumberdown range called the Chieftain, see the website! She hasn't much storage so she is offering me a few rugs at a discount, one being the Commander and the others being slumberdowns. Now can anyone tell me if both or either are worth the money/fit well/wash well etc,i'm a MT and Amigo fan so havn't had anything else before.
The Commander is the Fal version of the Rambo Duo,first impressions of it are good. The slumberdowns look smart and she said they wash v.well and are very warm for winter.Any oppinions are welcome.

Ive had mastas, mark todds, rambos and fal. Now I will only buy Rambos and Fal rugs. They tend to be bigger/deeper and fit well and very hardwearing. And they last. I wouldnt buy another MT rug now. Also if you have a neck cover the fastenings are really safe.
I also avoid shoulder gussets as this is where they seem to tear easily so thats why I now go for Rambos and Fal.

The expensive Fal rugs are deeper than the slumberdown so if you can get a Proper fal at a cheap price, personally I'd go for it over the slumberdown anyday.

Haven't had any experience with the exact ones you mention but I generally love the FAL make. Have 2 rugs by them (one stable, one turnout) which I bought about 3 years ago and they're still going strong.
