Fal Pro rugs

excellent quality- last for years - i still have one from 2004! As for fit I found they came up one size bigger than the weatherbeeta and Horsewear rugs.

fal are excellent rugs, they were bought out by loveson I believe, not sure of the timing of this regarding quality, I bought a chieftain about 3 or 4 years ago and I love it. Sizing is spot on.

Thanks for the replies.......this is used one on e-bay, my boy appears to have stretched and expanded over the summer, so I'm having to replace some of his rugs, he's 5 so I'm trying not to spend too much incase he goes and does it again :)

Hmmmm.... now I've heard little good about Fal Pro since the original company was taken over and the range made more cheaply overseas. Is this no longer the case, then? I've been avoiding the new Fal rugs and only consider buying second hand 'old' versions that have the excellent rep.

I bought 2 chieftans last year, used them for a few months & then gave them both away.

I wasn't happy with the fit or the quality and to make things worse I bought them as 100g and they were actually heavier and warmer then my Rambo 200gs.

I posted on here to see what was going on and found out that since Fal rugs were taken over and were now made abroad (india maybe?) their quality has gone seriously downhill. Shame I didn't post BEFORE buying them

Love them all mine are fal rugs not one has ever leaked even though some of them are old now very expensive but well worth it wouldnt have any other rugs

Have you bought one in the past 18 months or so? Just wondered if you found the new ones as good as the old ones you've got. The recent reviews I've heard have completely put me off trying a Fal Pro now; particularly the cheaper ones they do, like the Chieftain and Warrior ones. Not heard anything good about them, either their fit nor quality. And I wouldn't risk the money on trying one of their more expensive ones when I know a 2011 Rambo Supreme WILL do the job I expect and want for the same (or even a tad less) in cost.

Actually I have it on good authority that production for these year's rugs has been moved back to its original factory (abroad but not India) as a result of the takeover by Tagg. So one can hope the quality should be back to its former best.

Fingers firmly crossed then! I'll await to hear the reviews of 2011 Fals next year :)

I much prefer my older Vikings to the new Chieftain I bought last year. Was so disappointed with it, nowhere near the quality of the original ones. The sooner this brand comes back to being made in Britain with the team who used to make them the better, they were so knowledgeable and provided really good customer service.

Creme, how did you know they had been taken over?

As others have said, they have been advertising and I had an account with Loveson/Horseworks/Fal (trade) and my account evolved into the new one that it is now, bonus is I managed to get alot of things from loveson etc at very low prices before they went bust, shame as they were very nice people to deal with.
There are alot of brands all under one roof now.

I love FAL too. I have two high necks in tartan (Highlander???) very warm and lightweight.

I have been trying to buy more for ages. Will look at website.
