...Will I ever stop looking at rescue sites?! Have completely fallen in love with this chap who was found mistreated and neglected..looks like a cross between an GSD and a Malinois possibly? He is so stunning and look at those eyes :( :(
Sadly he is in Naples so about 800 miles (one way!) from me...
Has been looking for a new home for one year apparently, nobody has ever shown any interest?! How is it possible, he is so gorgeous.

Looks like either a Leonberger or an Estrela - just asking to be loved!

I'd say he's a (in the nicest possible way) ropey looking shep...but hey, I've been wrong before :p

If he is the cross you say he is FB, he may be very high-drive/high-energy and that's maybe what's put people off :(

He looks miserable :(

But have you seen those eyes, oh my goodness, how can anybody meet him in real life and not take him home immediately :(

I have no idea about the cross, the facebook appeal only said GSD cross, but he looks so much bigger so I added Malinois (having never really known the breed, so might be completely wrong!!). Leonberger as Aspiring said could also be a possibility, who knows.

Well he has the right bone for a GSD, Malis are actually thinner, more lighter boned, more wiry. He looks quite like B when he is doing his pathetic ears-back 'I'm so sad' look.

If we all went by the eyes, we'd all have a housefull!

Purely speculation but it would be worse if someone took him, he was too high energy or demanding or started to expend his energy in negative ways, and he was bumped back to the rescue or dumped again, fingers crossed the right home will come along soon, if he hasn't been too screwed up already :(

Apparently he has never had a family, he has always been in this rescue centre - according to the facebook appeal he was found -as a puppy- completely neglected inside a small chicken pen covered in chicken poo, the person who found him offered some cash to the farmer (owner) who was too happy to accept and he's been waiting for a new owner/family ever since. He is only 1 year and a half now!

Oh bless him, but the longer he is in there, the harder it will be for him to adapt and a bigger job for whoever takes him on, hope he eventually finds someone who can give him the life he deserves.

He's adorable, he looks like a giant puppy. At least they are hanging on to him until the right home comes along, nothing worse than rescues that rehome to just anybody.
