Afternoon everybody,

I haven't posted in ages, and I thought with the recent posts about how dead it is around here I would contribute my not so amazing post!

It's been all go around here. I think the last time I posted was about getting my new 3.5t box and I was excited/nervous to drive. Well I have drove it multiple times now and I LOVE it! Why didn't I get one of these before. In other news though I have received my provisional to start learning to drive an HGV so once I have a few spare pennies I am going to get on with that.

So rewind to 3 weekends ago, Well the 24th of June actually, however long ago that was! I packed the box up with myself, my friend & my horse and toddled off to bishop burton to jump the newcomers & fox. Gracie was actually quite on her toes when we got there, but we walked down, I walked the course then my friend legged me up so we could warm up. Or atleast she tried, when I was half way on Gracie decided it would be a right laugh to spin, bronc and p**s off in the opposite direction with me hanging over the top. Low and behold I went straight over the other side and landed in a heap on the floor. Gracie proceeded to gallop around the warm up having the time of her life. 'But I thought Gracie was nice and quiet?' I hear you say, Yeah so did I! Clearly feeling her feet!
When she was eventually caught I got on (Successfully this time) And warmed her up. My right hand was in absolute agony and a bit puffy but I thought it was maybe just sprained at this point, however looking back the fact I couldn't hold my reins well should of been a tell tale sign! Gracie proceeded to warm up lovely, went in the ring jumped DC and finished 5th.

I was waiting for the fox when I did actually start to loose feeling in my fingers and my hand was all tingly and I decided it was probably time for home then as I wasn't holding her well anyway. I drove home, put the horses away, then my friend and I drove to a&e just to go get it checked as she was concerned and I had broken my hand, my 4th metacarpal. GRRRRR.

The video is here, excuse my riding but it was the best I could do given my right hand wasn't co-operating :P

Luckily I got the pot off after 3 days and I've just been taping up my fingers. I know I shouldn't be riding etc but I have ALOT of shows coming up. I've been taking it as easy as possible for someone who has no horsey family haha! I had a week or so off riding and I've been lightly riding every other day. I had a little jump on my 4yo (Who you all may remember was slightly challenging to break!) He's doing so well. I am so pleased with how he is coming on.

So yeah, thats up to scratch with us! I am hiring an arena Saturday and I think taking Gracie. I am away jumping at Arena UK second rounds from next Wednesday so just a little prep for that.

Hope your all doing well and enjoying the occasional sun!

Thanks for reading :)

Boo video wouldn't work for me :(, but great result considering!

Hope it heals quickly for you, love the pictures of the four year old, he's got quite a pop hasn't he :).

Lovely colour too and we all know that's very important ;). Gracie is definitely sorry about your hand, what are your plans for the rest of the season with her?

You know, I didn't want to be 'that person' but he is incredibly handsome and I find it really helps :P
Gracie is incredibly sweet at times, but I know her for the princess and diva she really is so i'm not totally convinced its genuine :P I love her to bits all the same though!

We are at second rounds next week but I'm a DC short in the newcomers so will hopefully get it there, then I'll change a first round to a second round if we get it! Jumping some foxhunters there too as we haven't actually had chance to have a go yet!
Scope is in August which I may attend to jump some 6yo classes but i'm still in two minds whether to go or not yet it's an expensive show as I'll be jumping at the Arena UK Major champs in September as I do love it and I'll take both there, which is also an expensive do!
Failing going to scope we will continue 1.10/1.20s then i'm hoping if all goes to plan I can jump the star of the future qualifier at the major champs along with some more foxhunters & also the 6YO qualifiers there. Will just see how this bloody hand heals! It's a very annoying set back!

Blimey busy busy then! She just makes it all look so easy :), though tell your video'er to go landscape ;) much better viewing then .
Hopefully it won't hold you back too much, though after I did my collarbone I know how frustrating it is to miss out whilst bones decide whether to heal or not, so you have my every sympathy!

I know it was my friend on his iPhone! I usually use a proper video camera but I've misplaced the charger somewhere! I hope so, this bone breaking malarkey is really inconvenient for us horsey people especially in summer!

4yo is clearly struggling :D

fingers are so easy to do when the reins get in a mess, I am glad Gracie is repentant :p

He said he wants to start going by the name big star now he he's jumped a few crosses he's full of his own self importance!
I wish it was meaningful off Gracie, but for some reason I imagine if she was human she would be an absolute cow bag and sarcastic as anything! :D

You can tell friend that portrait is perfect viewing for us phone users of HHO.
Naughty Gracie, but at least she redeemed herself with a DC. She's a very busy little horse isn't she? Gives the vibe of a genius professor on the brink of a discovery as she goes round the course :D
Good luck for the second rounds, hope your newcomers clear comes together.
Love your 4yo - can't wait to see how you get on with him...and, well, if you ever want to sell....just saying :p

Ouch re the hand but Gracie looks lovely over the jumps! The 4yo has quite a pop too :o. Good luck in the upcoming shows!

She is very sure of herself! She gives an unreal feeling over a fence especially when we are working as one with all body parts! Thank you so much. The 4yo is lovely. He's one I wasn't supposed to be keeping!

Ooh, nice to get an update but sorry to hear about the hand. Bonkers horse people as ever, carrying on regardless!
We are bonkers the lot of us!

The horse isn't in the view for a lot of the time! At least landscape there's a chance it will be in the shot if the person gets distracted and starts watching not videoing!

Hope you heal up quickly op. I'm impressed at you keeping going regardless of injury. No way could I do that!

Haha thankyou, I have ordered a new camera charger for my video camera which is easier to use for everyone so hopefully the next report will have decent footage!

Wait what? Wasn't the cut off date for DCs 31st May?

Well done anyway, and so much sympathy for the metacarpal.
I'm at Arena UK too so I'll see you there [waves]
