Family sue Somerfield after boy dies

Very very sad. The poor boys family.
I like many others can not see that its the stores fault.

Parents needs to take more responsibility for their children and the childrens actions.
The story does say that the family was very protective of the child..then how comes he was not standing with his mum?
She may only have been a few yards away but he should have been standing with her.

I am very protective of my children but they know that when we are out they stay close and when I am packing the shopping they go and sit still in my sight.

I feel very sad for the family as this is an awful awful thing to have happened.

Why was the mother shopping while her FOUR year old child was outside a supermarket, presumably on his own, in a city?!

Seems like a case of someone feeling immense guilt and trying to aportion that guilt to someone else so that they can somehow try to feel a little better.

Not somerfield's fault at all; however, I do feel deeply sad for the little boy's family.

Whilst i am *deeply* sorry for there loss, i cannot begin to imagine how they must be feeling, this tragic accident is *not* Somerfields fault.

My boys know full well that they don't swing on the railings, and they will get told off if they do.

Views?

Somerfield

...and if they could force Somerfield to remove the railings outside the doors, the next family would sue them for their child running out of the door, onto the car park and being knocked down by a car.

The railings are there for a reason.....and entertaining a four year old is not their intention.

I feel desperately sorry for the little boy's family but sadly accidents will always happen, especially where children and mischief come together.

I guess the only prevention, in this instance, would be the more vertical type railings they have outside schools etc.
