Hi,

just using some where to relive my anger!!

Iv just been working for a top rider for a few weeks but have left.

Some peole you think are so nice and a braeth of fresh air certainly arn't.

The rider im commenting about had a £200,000 sponsorship from a major rug/clothing manufacturer and the horses on the yard wear rugs for £ weeks then they are burnt and new ones put on!!!!

yes 3 weeks.

and when i questioned why they dont give them to charitey i was given the responce "do you think we are a charitey?"....

... amazing! i was gob smacked. I have rugs that ive had for 10 years or more.

There were many other items of tack, eadcollars, jods, etc etc that were all put in the fire!

So our so called idols shouldn't be idols at all. Yet only a few years ago these riders were everyday riders just like everyone else.

big headed or what!!

Up to them really

You don't know the details of the sponsorship agreement they are tied into. You may well find that they are not allowed to move any of the gear on that they are given.

I agree it sounds like a complete waste, but unless you fully know the circumstances you can't really comment

i found out most of the details.

also 1 member of staff had to work everyday throu xmas.

they didnt invite her in for xmas dinner (she lives there in very nasty caravan) or plate her a meal up.

That member of staff is foreign, she cant leave due to having no where to live and can't go home, she works a 52hr week. and a can't even being to think of her wages.

It is very sad.

and to top it all the famous rider did a interview in a magazine recently saying that they do all the hard work on the yard, muck out etc, hack the horses at least 3time a week (in there dreams) etc.

Honestly its all lies.

I must say though i have worked for other well known riders who have been great!

You should really be careful about what you are saying T88 - if this rider really did do an interview recently and said the above, it wouldn't be too hard to find out who you are talking about.

I don't see a problem, the rugs etc are their property to do with as they please. There may be something within their sponsorship deal that prevents the items being passed onto anyone else. Either way it is nothing to do with you.

I note that you have worked for them for a few weeks & now you have left. Could this be anything to do with why you have chosen now to launch this attack on them?

Hey I hear you hun. Makes me livid to know tack and equipment being thrown away when charities are calling out for anything.

It's sad as the charities are desperate for stuff. Wouldn't profess to understand the complexities of sponsorship deals (only time I was every sponsored was by my mum for a sponsored silence

) but surely there is some kudos for the companies in giving second hand 'ex-sponsorship deal' stuff to charity? I would think so much more of some of them if they did that.

Tbh i wouldnt be concerned about the rugs being burnt - as FMM said the horses could have had an infectious disease, or lice, or it may be stated in their sponsorship deals the rugs cant be passed on in any way and they dont have room to store hundreds of rugs.... there could be many reasons you just dont know about

Very sad about the groom not even gettin offered xmas dinner - grooms notoriously work long hours for little money but at all yards i've encountered they are like part of the family so yes very sad.
