Fancy Dress ideas

My Daughter is doing a fancy dress class at a local charity horse show, and we can't think of what to dress up as! Her pony is a 13hh chestnut mare.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
 
My friend won first prize with this pirate ship made of cardboard!

saw some cracking fancy dress at Cartmel last summer the winner was dressed as a sheep :D with fleeces covering the body and floppy ears I shall see if I can find a piccy. Another one was dressed as a huntsman and his younger siblings were dressed as hounds and the person leading was dressed as a fox :p there were umpalumpas as willy wonkas chocolate factory can't remember the rest but did make me want to have children and small ponies to dress them up :cool:
 
I was there too Cloball and I thought the sheep was genius, and the pony was a saint! I've got photos of that class too, there were lots of really good entries. OP, maybe try to turn the pony into something, like the pirate one pictured and have a cardboard costume, maybe as the pony is chestnut you could do something pumpkin based?

Thanks guys I can't believe I didn't actually take a photo!!! I thought it was very convincing the commentator was quite concerned it was going to overheat as it was a very hot day :eek:
I had to judge a fancy dress at a royal wedding gymkhana we put on for the kids at the local stables and there was a couple of girls who made their ponies into beds complete with pillows, teddies and they wore onsies. The girl who won had dressed as a bride and plaited the pony with tiny little roses and put lace from her mothers wedding dress onto the saddle and numnah :O I am pretty sure she had permission :p oooo GYPSY WEDDING thats the other one I thought was very topical :D

i can't beleive you came last with the bath tub! i would steal the idea however the pony is very 'sparky', and is mostly an idiot!:D I like the knight idea, and staying on the theme they could be a princess and a pretty pony!

Came last as pony freaked out (not one pictured) and snapped headcollar, ad pulled tie ring from wall.

When i was little we did the mad hatters tea party
Me - the mouse ( i wore a fur coat) :)
Mum - The mad hatter
And my lovely pony Tiptoe who wore a sheet with tea pots drawn on it and had cardboard tea pots in his mane we won alot that year :)

I also did arabian princess, dressed Tiptoe in a sari - don't know how you spell it :D and lots of tassles ;)
