I get slightly annoyed that all Fancy Dress classes at shows are for kids - yes I know! I'm being a spoil sport! But could they also have a class for adults who like a bit of fun?!?

I have always said that if an adult FD class ever came up then my grey horse is going with bells on and I'd be off to find the longest blonde wig you could get!

What would you do if you got the chance to?

Yes that is me 2 weekends ago

Me and Ned did Native American! Though it wasn't for a show, we just wanted to play dress up (I lie, it was originally for a show, but it was cancelled)

I know, I know! Lack of hat - I had mother just off camera with a hat to put on between takes, ready to grab me or Ned.

I always wanted a grey so I could go as Death and Binky from the Discworld series. Unfortunately, my horse is dark bay.

My sister just hit on an idea though; I could dress the horse up as Batman, and I could be Robin!

There's a tiny fun show near me that has an adults fancy dress class by popular demand. And I have same pony (a grey) as I did as a kid. We've done allsorts, fairies, cowboys & Indians with a friend, headless horseman, Pegasus, bride, ballerina, skeletons, cat woman & bat man, loads. However I quite fancy using kids paint to make her into a boy racer car. Go faster stripes, 'passion, grace and lots of bass' & 'turbo' written on. Fluffy dice round neck. And cos she's good like that, cardboard circles attached to boots to look like alloys. I'll wear a Burberry cap, tracksuit, & bright white trainers. And possibly hide an ipod playing drum & bass somewhere on her. Everyones always telling me to do lady godiva (got long blond hair) but no way!

See I would do Lady Godiva because you can wear fleshings! So technically you aren't naked lol! Trouble at the time was I really shouldn't have been doing that at 16 in a class of kids :-/ That's why I want an adults class - just for the craic!

Me and my friend came up with loads the other month, the best 2 I can remember were Her as a stormtrooper (her ponies name) and the pony with it's face pained as darth maul or Soldier and a pony as a Humvee (basically cover said pony with camo netting).

My fave idea is Horse as superman and me as Clark Kent lol.

My local EC do fancy dress show jumping and dressage over christmas. An half tempted to spike his mane, plat his tail and fluff the end, grab a blue bedsheet and a cushion and go as Mary riding the donkey!

Our RC has a Fun Show every year with a FD class with open entry,we often get adults in the class. We also have adults only FD Pub Rides, where we collect for whichever charity the Club is sponsoring that year. This year every-one has to dress as Father Christmas. We also usually have a Hallowe'en ride where adults and children dress up. One year we had Pink Ride for Breast Cancer charities and we've also had a Bra Ride - one member who is a nurse nearly gave an elderly motorist a heart attack when he spotted her costume. It could have been very difficult as she was the only one who could have resuscitated him if necessary! Fortunately a few deep breaths and he went on his way.

I would be a knight in armour. Or maybe someone from LOTR. Or a native american. Or a cowboy. Or I could be a milkmaid, she looks like a cow already

I always wanted to paint black stripes onto my grey, dress up as a cavewoman and ride her in the class in a rope halter, bareback, so she'd be a zebra and me the cavewoman :D I think it'd look really cool :D

Please also tie a Magic Tree to her tail :)

I'm going Christmas showjumping next weekend. I'm two months shy of 30 years old but my pony is 12.1

He is going to be a candy cane and I am an elf :D

Me and GK as a Fairy and a Unicorn...
You can't see in the pic, but he had ribbons in his tail and also some glitter butterflies in his mane. I also used a heap of gold glitter waterbased poster paint on his hooves and about 4 cans of gold glitter hairspray on the pair of us :)

Has previously entered fancy dress as Lady Godiva.

Currently looking for ideas for fancy dress to do with my nephew, he'll have to have me leading since he'll be riding my 16hh 5year old so I can dress up too! :D

I'm doing fancy dress freestyle dressage next week and no idea what to wear! Might just end up as a fairy with the poor horse decked out like a Christmas tree...

Well I'd like a grey pony so that I could drape myself in white gauze from head to toe & put an old holly wreath round my head & go as the ghost of Christmas past!

Goodness, where do I start?

Certainly am not young, but in recent years: friends 16.2 ID x who was grey, covered him in spots with black face paint = Dalmatian and cruella deville, including black floppy ears. Me as Obi Wan Kanobi and horse as Princess Leia (she did not appreciate the buns). Hats and ties to make an 'all the jazz' theme. Frank'n'furter complete with basque and fishnets (whilst there was snow on the ground, flipping freezing!).
Within next two weeks one pony will be a sailor and other will be doing a men in black theme.

Wow great ideas. I am doing a fancy dress freestyle to music a week on Saturday. My music is Mr Blue Sky. Was just going to try and make us a bit Santa, red, black, comedy belt, Santa hat ect. Thinking it might be a bit lame, any ideas??

We were the Galloping Dead at a recent team SJ comp :D

Arnie still had bloodstained legs 3 weeks later - even repeated washing and pig oiling didnt shift it :D

In the past I have been a Christmas Pudding, the Christmas Fairy on a Christmas Tree (that one cost me over £70 by the time I bought all the flashing lights and extra tinsel - worth every penny to win the selection box), Santa and Rudolph.

My best ever was when I dressed up my pals Clydesdale as an elephant complete with Howdah (sp?) and ears and trunk and got her to sit in the middle with a dressing gown on and a towel round her head, fake tan and a red dot on her forehead. That one stopped an entire show :D

Err, I didnt have a pony when I was a child so all my fancy dress outings have been as an adult ;)
