Yep, no hat, taken off FB so no point commenting on the fact. I was reading some of the comments, some thought dressing up a pony was downright wrong, none I read said a thing about the headwear.

Is dressing them up wrong do you think? Or merely harmless fun that generally makes a lot of people smile?

Cute! Reminds me of the fancy dress at Cartmel show whose pony was dressed as a sheep... surprisingly convincing :D

The pony doesn't look at all distressed by his new costume a little confused perhaps no worse than pony PJ's ;)

Love it! Pony doesn't seem to mind in the least! I once dressed my daughter's pony up to look like a pumpkin for Halloween. Daughter even had a stalk on her hat to complete the look. Loads of fun had by all. I think dressing up is great. :)

I did a fancy dress class a couple of weeks ago, just because I never had a pony when I was little and it was something I always wanted to do. We went as the grim reaper!

I wish show organisers would cater more to the fun classses.
I am not a child, can't jump or ride correctly, have a horse of no particular breed, that I consider to be a handsome chap, yet I am limited to doing pleasure rides with him, I would love to do fancy dress with him or in hand, but no suitable classes for the mature rider

You need to join a riding club like ours :) Anyone can enter our fancy dress classes at shows and the oldest competitor we have had is in her sixties. We have at least one full fancy dress ride every year, with prizes for the best 'turnout'. We also have an easter bonnet ride, a halloween ride and every other year a christmas fancy dress ride. This summer we are having the theme of 2012, Christmas this year we all have to dress as father christmas, All are welcome :D

Fancy Dress is always a hotly contested class at our yard show, and most of the entrants are adults!

Here's my 2nd-place entry for this past Saturday, "Pony Mad" (yes, I am aware it should be "Dr Sigmund Pony", not "Dr Sigismund Pony") :D :
