"Fantastic Elastic" reins??

A friend was telling me about these today, and I've had a quick look on the Carl Hester website to find out a bit more. I'm finding it quite hard to ride my new young horse into an even contact, not helped by me now becoming tense in my right hand/arm. I'm just wondering if these might help, has anyone else tried them and what did you think. A lot of money for reins if they don't make any difference!

There is an alternative version about £30 you can try by trizone I think that are half the price they attach to your reins. This was discusse dquite a bit in competitin riders a while back.

Yes, they would help with that. Have a look on ebay, I got inserts (go between bit and rein, do exactly the same) for a tenner.
