Well, what an end to what can only be described as the best season I have had! this could be explained by the fact that is the first time since I started BE in 2010 that I actually got more than 2 events :D However, the real reason for this is that my fantastic horse has taken from a nervous wreck going round my first BE90 since 2012 to literally skipping round the BE100 at Larkhill making me really want to tackle a Novice next season, obviously with a lot of practise in the dressage and show jumping department! This however, could not of been made possible without my fantastic trainer who helps me without complaint, knows when I am being pathetic and needs a bit of a kick but at the same time knows when I need a bit of reassurance. The other major player would have to be my father, he has tirelessly driven me to training and competitions without complaint. The extent of how much he sacrifices for me is that on one occasion he did not get back from work until 10.30pm and still got up a 5 to take me to Aston, then yesterday took me Larkhill not finishing until 4.15pm even though he had a 4.5 journey that very night. The help and sacrifices I have received will always show me how incredibly lucky I am and without my trainer, father and fantastic horse this season would not have been possible.

Larkhill was a fantastic way to end the season, we had improvements and levellers but nothing at all bad! We have now hit the teenage tantrum stage with Alf, luckily once he gets told no enough times he does go back to being the sweet horse he is! Luckily, he refrained from any teenage tantrums in the test, though there was still tension we have improved from a rather dire 47.5 at Purston Manor to a much more respectable 40.5 at Larkhill. This I am sure will improve even more with rider fitness and more match practise.

Show Jumping was one of the best rounds we have done and I could not be more pleased with how he jumped, he really listened and tried his hardest to remember that sometimes the rider might know the best rhythm...I jumped the last in ecstasy thinking another clear inside the bag until I saw one of the jump builders picking up a pole! ahhh I was so disappointed as he had jumped so well and really well, however, from looking at the pro pictures I think that he just did not jump properly through his back, annoying but definitely not the end of the world.

XC, well, what a round! He flew and I mean flew! He did not look at anything so bold through the sunken round and up the step, he just could not care what was in front of him, he just knew that his job was to get through though flags!

So with the season now at the end we are gearing up for winter BSJA and BD and Alf is having a 2 week holiday to relax which I am sure will help in the Kevin stage in life!

Thank you for reading and congratulations for getting this far!

Well done for a successful season, great pictures and lovely report. Has you father seen the above praise? Worthy of an Oscar speech indeed.

Lots to look forward to for next season.

Thank you! I frequently tell him as I now without him non of it would be possible.

Great report. And good for you making your speech - I made up my own this morning in my head as Larkhill was my last event yesterday too :). There are always so many people helping the partnership get to an event aren't there?. And I love your horse's knees in the xc pic. Very tidy indeed.

Very well done - great to see someone so happy with themselves, their horse and their team. Sounds like a thoroughly deserved good end to the season. Onward and upward!
