On Tuesday my Farrier phoned to ask me if he could cancel tomorrows appointment as he had the chance of doing a 2 day farrier seminar to update techniques and would come first thing on Monday. No problem as all shoes on tight on all horses - until tonight when my horse came in with a hind shoe off having been a total pratt in the field and I have booked XC schooling session tomorrow. So I rang him and asked if there was any possibility of getting a shoe on tomorrow - not expecting him to be able to do anything and resigned to not going. I got a text back within five minutes - he's coming out of his way tomorrow morning at 6.30 to do him before he goes to the farrier course. How fantastic is that. So thank you Paul Dean we really do appreciate our farrier .

Paul already does some heavies so no problem there. And he is brilliant with my yearling who had never seen a farrier in his life (I was given him by his previous owner who didn't believe in handling youngstock)

Oooo interesting. I know our old farrier stopped doing our boys as his back was starting to get bad and although they are greatly improved and improving all the time he couldn't risk himself if they did throw the odd tantrum. Keith's alright with them although I was a bit peeved when he smacked jakes willy with a rasp.... he was sedated, not like he could help it....
