Ok, so i am finally getting my own horse after 19 solid years of begging... We are lucky enough to have some woodland at home, and I am interested in making a little X-country course... now is this too dangerous for words or can it be done provided I ask my step-daddy, the ultimate DIY man, very nicely he will do almost what I ask... of course i will help though...
Any ideas of what to make and how would be amazing... step-daddy has build plenty of pheasant pens at home and we have diggers and tractors galore!!!
Thank you

wow sounds awesome

well done! I think if planned carefully then no it woudln't be too dangerous. you can get books on fence building so you can do it safely (and not have big spears hanging out ready to impale yourself on) and also to advise you on distances and hieghts if you're doing any combinations etc..
ooo you could build treetrunk fence, brush fences, ditches, jumps in and out of trees, cut logs piled up....

Overall I think i'd spend longer planning than you probably would think so then you can get what you want and you get it right and not do a bodge job...

I'm very jealous!!

go for it

you cn get hold of those helf circle pieces of timber- im sure theres a name but theyre basically what you would use for a fencing post but half of it and make tiger traps, roll tops and things like that with it. also if you have any hedges/existing fence lines that you could use thats always good. my friends made a fence our of their hedge. they trimmed it so it was lower then the actual hedge and put some more of these half circle timber thingys in it to support it ir something.
im not jelous at all

good luck and get thinking, and make sure you dont make them too small, thats what my friends did.. theyre now stuck with fences that are way too small!
