Oooh, sorry!! I have been a bit quiet on that front! Apollo is doing really well. I gave him a groom last night and picked his feet up. Our farrier lent us a file to get him used to having his feet messed with. He seems to be quite well behaved at the moment!! He's leading well and being quiet in the stable.
I was watching him playing in the field with Dolly last night and he's got the Friesian action, and head carriage. They seem to have emerged as he's got more confdence going faster! I have pictures, but my OH has swanned off to India with our camera, and I can't find the cable for the card reader.
So, I'm sure there will be a glut of photos next week.
He and Dolly get on really well, as she is so playful. He doesn't take milk from her though. I'm not sure why, but neither of them seem that bothered about it. He loves his buckets of milk anyway, and he certainly has an appetite.
I'm so pleased with him, he really is a little star. We are being really careful not to treat him like a pet. My sister squeals at him when he's naughty!!! It's very funny to watch! He loves to steal hay from our gelding who's next to him in the stable (they can see and touch each other over the wall), even though he has has own supply! Then Benson spends the night looking longingly at Apollo's hay because he can't reach it!
I'm not sure if this is odd or not, but he has curly hair all over his body! I'll get some pictures and put them on next week. Someones been feeding him crusts! Thanks for thinking of us!
How lovely to hear from you Anne and to have an update on Apollo and Dolly. Has Lou been to visit recently? Have you settled in and made friends on the new yard? Cant wait to see pics of them both.
Hx
New yard is very quiet - thank god! Our 3 + 3 that belong to one family and another random one who is Bensons best mate from our old yard! I'll have to put some pictures of them up. They are joined at the hip and follow each other round all day. I even caught them doing synchronised tail swishing last night!
Lou and her family came down the other week, but she is hoping to come and ride Dolly soon. Poor Dolly will get a shock, she's having a great holiday!! She is such a lovely little pony, I don't know what we would have done without her.
Hi Lou, I checked her nose yesterday, it seemed ok. That sun mask slips about a bit, but I reckon it does her good! She seemed to have cleverly smothered her nose in dirt, which probably helped! I'll PM you when I've worked out when I can squeeze in getting down there
