For all you Arab Horse owners out there, do any of you do affiliated Dressage?

Me and my arab mare are doing our first BD at the end of the month, and I just wanted to know how other people have done in BD with arabs etc.

Me and my Instructor have worked hard with my mare and she shows some promising and pleasing work and thought right I may aswell give affiliated a go.

So just wanting to know how others have done really, thanks! :)

Have a look on Arabian Lines, there is a current thread about someone competing at Nov and Elem with their Arab.

I plan to take my lad out to do a bit of dressage at some stage in the future, as part of his all-round education, but its a long way off as he's only 3 1/2 and not backed yet.

Good luck with your BD debut!

Look forward to report and pics.

I don't have an arab but a girl at my yard has and she's just started doing unaffiliated tests with him and he's doing really well - don't know if she has plans to go affiliated though. Sorry, not much help really lol :)

You mean me? ;) I just use a different name o'er there!

Mine's a part bred but as a result of that thread I have been pointed at some pics/videos of pure breds (and pb's) doing dressage to a very high level and standard. Yep it's possible!

I'm currently unaff, but plan to do some aff this winter at Novice level and keep the Elem stuff unaff for now.

Sounds pleasing thanks everyone!

Were just doing a Prelim for the test and then if all goes well we'll do novice next time. I've done unaffiliated prelim and novice tests on her and this year we've been scoring in the mid 60's, so were improving all the time.

I will have to work out how to upload piccys and will keep you updated on how we do!!! :)
