I've got to make this an open request as I can't think of a better way of doing it.

The petition for Horseriding rights which I set up on behalf of the BHS is gathering pace - http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Horseriding/ It has now over 8700 signatures, but it needs substantially more IMO.

None of the other equestrian publications have the reach or frequency of H&H, and the petitions closing date is the 13th of August.

I've just been informed that Mark Weston (The BHS Director who flagged this up in the first place) is on a riding holiday in Mongolia (wow

) , so I'm asking on his behalf.

This will impact on so many riders if the next edition of the Highway code is not amended, so please can you consider a plug for it in an issue of H&H in the near future so people can add their name before the petition closes ?

Thank you for your time.

Further to this, I've done some digging around and the cycling group (The CTC) fronted a campaign to promote cycling rights in a similar way.

This got nearly 30,000 names on it, and I think that the Horseriding petition will need a similar number to be taken notice of. The Horse riding one I posted now has just under 10,000 which is why I'm still touting it !
