You may remember my rather lengthy thread about my horse going footy and the debate I had about putting shoes on him. I did eventually put fronts on whilst I played about with his diet and yesterday they came back off.
He is on a tiny handful of Dengie Good Doer, 1/8 scoop Saracen Re-leve (8% starch) and 50mg micronised linseed per meal. In his PM feed he gets BY, MagOx, Pink Powder and salt. He is happier with his back feet now so presuming that this is making a difference, and yesterday when I took him out he was happy with his front feet as well, although I know that could be because he has just spent 8 weeks with shoes on and may not feel his feet yet!
My question this time is this: his MagOx is running out and I need to decide whether to keep him on MagOx, PP and Salt (BY in the PP) or switch him over to ProHoof. My finances are extremely tight at the moment and by the looks of things the PH is going to work out at roughly £1 a day when you take postage into account, whereas the MagOx was £11 and has lasted over 2 months and PP is 40p a day. Is the PH really worth the extra money, or can I just stick with what I've got?
