In response to the WHW's plea this week to lobby those MEP's that have not signed the written declaration, I have written to two MEP's this week and received two completely unsatisfactory replies which have left me bristling! One plainly doesn't want to get involved and the other told me that he didn't agree with the EU and therefore wouldn't be involved in encouraging legislation however finished his email encouraging me to vote for his party
I'm sorry my friend, I try to reserve my votes for those that are willing to take action. These people are elected MP's who draw a salary and whilst they are entitled to their opinions surely this constitutes a no-brainer and everyone should want to sign up? And if they are lobbied by their constituents that have a responsibility to act surely?
Anyway - if anyone is hitting the same brick wall I have some fantastic words pulled together for my by WHW which I will use to compose detailed and reasoned responses to this two M u P pets. If anyone wants that additional info then PM me and I will be happy to pass it on.
The charities really need us to dig in on this for them and it's astonishing to see what they are up against in terms of attitudes
