Hi Weezy, just wondering whether you have come to any decisions about the mare you had vetted (sorry if you have posted this already, been out all day)...
Yep I had it removed as I wasnt sure what I was going to do and a couple of posts were getting a bit close to the identity of the horse and should I have chosen to pull out I didnt think that fair!
Anyway, after talking to umpteen people all day, specialists/vets/trainers/competitors etc I have decided to go ahead and buy her - sometimes its better the devil you know and all that, but she will be x-rayed anyway, though after talking it through I still think I have found a decent horse, who, as I have been deviously planning, Jamie can hunt next season if nothing else LOL!! Please line up and feel free to say "well, we DID warn you" should anything go horribly wrong lol
Like I said in the previous post, if you trust your vet then I think you have made the right decision. Besides, you like the horse and that is a major thing in my opinion. Again, like I said in my previous post, any horse could be lamed no matter how hard you try to prevent it, and if your vet is sure it will not affect the horses work, I'll watch this space and look forwards to hearing everything the two of you get up to!
Hey Louise, everything in life is a gamble to some extent so why not go for her if you like her. It's all very well us sitting saying don't have her.....but we haven't met her. You enjoy her.
Indeed - I was also swayed by the fact that every vet/specialist I spoke to was absolutely non-plussed
Then someone on here PMed me with her vets advice, which echoed that of the vets I had spoken to and that just confirmed everything! Ultimately the gamble has been taken, as is taken everytime we buy a horse !
At least you have a HHO member to hang, draw and quarter should the advice have been pants
I hope you enjoy many years of fun with her and can enjoy her without worrying about her feet. The worse part sometimes is knowing isn't it as it can affect how we view the horse. When I found out about Bailey's fetlock I was constantly watching for the next head nod! Of course, he was a hopeless case. You've been reassured on many fronts now it seems that side bone isn't as bad as first feared.
Glad you have made a decision lou. I'm sure sh wil be fab and I hope to see you out and about and I hope she is all you want. Buting ahorse is a gamble anyway so im sure the vets at BV have given you the right advise.
Hjack away, I cannot wait for this years HHO foals - tho I have to say that I am looking forward to Clouds more than any of the others but I HAVE met her and so I think I am allowed to be biased!

But thats nothing Tia, I'M EXCITED and Asti hasn't even gone to stud yet, haven't decided fully on Daddy so I've well over 365 days to go but I'm STILL getting excited!!!!
Back to Weezy - glad you've made a decision you are happy with and hope she's everything you want her to be.... Waiting for piccies now!!!
Can't steal Floyd anymore. Cath put him on Horsequest tonight
Loads of people have rung already.
So plan of action - get your 4 DCs at BN and go to your Regional on 12th May at Area 42 show (I'm pretty sure thats yours) which is just outside Bath on Junction 18 of M4. Easier to get to than West Wilts
