Hello

I've been trying to get my local Farmkey rep to give me some information since Monday, but two telephone messages and a text have gone unanswered (it is the correct number, I spoke to the rep briefly and she said she's call me back but hasn't) so it looks like I need to get another company in to freezemark my horse.

What other companies have others used and had a good experience with please?

Thank you! :)

Glad its not just me!
There is another company called Freezemark.
I had the same lack of response fom them.
Rang and emailed both companies,to no avail.
Given up and horse microchipped now. Not visible, but better than nowt.
Anyone else had better luck?

I've e-mailed Freezemark too through the contact form on their website, and had no reply from them either! lol!

I think I'll just have to train to do it myself and tap into this unexploited market.

Which area are you in? I had mine freezemarked a couple of months ago, and I think they only have a few people doing it now who cover the whole country.

Ive been struggling with both companies. Been trying since last September to get an appointment for 2, chased Freezemark in Dec, they apologised for forgetting about me! and said they would get to me asap. In fairness they did have an appointment in Dec but it wasnt convenient, they have just called me to offer next Friday. In Dec I tried Farmkey to see if they were any quicker, the rep took 4 days to return my call and didnt have a date to offer me. I think they are struggling to cover the whole country as not many operators but I am now wondering whether to bother at all.

I did have to wait a while for an appointment, but this was just due to them wanting to wait until they had enough in the area to be done at the same time. They did offer me an appointment quickly, but the first date they offered me was no good for me. I had mine done with Farmkey and I'm in Herts.

I contacted both companies. Freezemark wait would of been months due to not having enough in the area.
Farmkey were much quicker so I went with them.
Didnt particularly have any trouble getting hold of either of them. This was 2 years ago though.

Farmkey got right on my nerves, I was only able to do certain days in a month because I had to fit in with them and the rep kept getting stroppy with me when I said I couldn't do them due to work etc. It was esp difficult as mine would need sedating so would have had to link with vet visit but trying to arrange anything was like getting blood out of a stone!

I think there's only Freezemark LTD & Farmkey to choose from unfortunately - I've had Freezemark out to do all of ours and they were fab the first time a couple of years ago, but I had to chase them a fair bit for the second visit (about 6 months ago) - they eventually got back to me and gave me the option of one day, where they made it sound as if they were going right out of their way & doing a massive favour for me! Wasn't very happy with their customer service the second time round as they were really quite off with us on the phone, but hey ho. Would try Farmkey if we needed to have another one done - it's definitely worth doing though, has really put my mind at ease since having them FM'd x

I had mine done by freezemark ltd on Friday, took them a few months to come out but did get it did in the end. I've used them to do 4 over the years and have always been pleased with the service.

I could not get Farmkey to come out despite promises. I usually use Freezemark.biz, who are the original Freezemarking company and in my experience much better. Give them a call.

Isn't Farmkey owner a member on here? Borderriviera or something??

Freezemark did my mare years ago. Trying to trace her I emailed. They were hopeless to reply at first but once I called and left a message, they were very helpful. Tracked down old owner and put us in touch and re registered dolly/indie in my name.

I got mine done with Farmkey. They came out to me within 2 months - I emailed farmkey and they got in touch with the girl that does it. She then arranged with me as to when she was coming out, but it was a case of I was told she'd be out end of November, and then got 4 days notice. This wasn't enough time to arrange sedation for one pony so one has still to be done.
I was pleased with the service however, and next time would let them know I need at least 1 weeks notice.

I contacted freezemark.biz but they would need 2-3 days of work to make it worth their while hence I got in touch with Farmkey.

I wouldn't mind if they got back to me and said "The area you live in is too remote for us to visit - sorry" or "We haven't got enough people from your area interested yet, so it could be a wait of 6 months, but I'll take your details and put you on our waiting list".

That would all be fine! It's the not bothering to get back to me at all that's annoying, when they don't even know where I live yet (unless they checked from the dialling code on my phone number I suppose.)

That look interesting Polosmum, I'll ask my farrier - thank you! :)
