Farmkey or Freezemark?

I had mine done with farmkey. The lady turned up on time, explained what was going to happen and how the horse might react etc. The horse reacted badly (reared a few times) but the lady was very patient and understanding.

I think with freezemark you can get a better range of personalised choices though - 5 letters instead of 4.

Edited to say, I rang freezemark in the first instance to arange when they were next in my area and almost a year on....they still havent rang me back or emailed me!!!

Vikki, I may be able to save you some money. I am running a freezemarking session on the 9th Feb near Faringdon, there will be discounts for bulk marking. The marking will be done by Freezemark - Mary and her colleagues have been marking my horses since the 80s so I decided to stick with her.

i had farmkey out last august and the lady was very good and patient when V was being a little sh*t he seemed to forget about it after a minute. i got the personalised one.

I was looking at the back up they provide as well, they seem to be very similar. I have a youngster so would probably need someone patient as don't know how he would react but i asume they would all be used to it.

mother_hen - As good as it sounds and i would like to save money but I currently have no transport so I would have to have it done at home.

I had Farmkey, no complaints.

I did initially contact Freezemark but they weren't in my area, they said they'd ring when they were.

I'm still awaiting a call from them over a year later!!!

I used Farmkey, they were a bit iffy on the admin side, but they were very quick to come out, and the lady who did it was extremely patient and explained everything and George didn't bat an eyelid. If you use farmkey and you are a BHS member you get a discount.

I used Farmkey as another livery was getting her horse done through them so I tagged on to the booking. I thought Taff would be a bit iffy about the whole thing so worked him beforehand, gave him some Sedalin and had a bucket of feed handy. The lady who came was brilliant, obviously knew her stuff and was very good with the horses, very patient and actually Taff didn't react at all - which I was really surprised at. He snorted more over the clipboard she brought into his stable with the paperwork on than he did over the freezemarking!
