Hi, my horse requires hoof sole pads to be fitted for the next six months and we have been using Equi-Pak (blue tubes) on each front hoof with no problems. However, I have seen that you can also get a product called Cottam Hoof Pad which I have been told Is nearly identical to the Equi-Pak. The benefit of the Cottam stuff is that it is half the price of the Equi-Pak. Does anyone have any comments, advice or recommendations for the Cottam product. Thanks

I have to say, I didn't find the Equipak much good. It came out very quickly, the first time it lasted about 4 weeks - two weeks short of his shoeing. The next shoeing it lasted about three days before breaking up. The following shoeing was about a week and a half. In the end I gave up and used rubber pads in his shoes instead. The price was also prohibitive. Alright whilst the insurance pays, but expensive when you have to!
