Does anyone know of a farrier in the Northern or Yorkshire area that has experience of fitting plastic/glue on shoes such as Imprints, Epona's or other similar type of shoe?

Dean Bland is the only farrier I am aware of in the south yorkshire / west yorkshire area who has been fully trained in using the Imprints. He is very good and when I worked in the area he was the farrier I recommended to all my clients who required a remedial farrier. I can PM you his number if required.

Thanks for the info guys - do you have experience of using the imprints? Is Dean barefoot friendly? And who are 'the firths' please? Cheers :)

I've not had imprints on my own horses but am a vet and have used them in laminitics, in my experience they have worked very well, in some horses it has been remarkable how quickly they have become comfortable once the imprints were on. Dean advised me to take my horse's shoes off when he'd had them on for a long period to allow the hoof to recover so am sure he could be considered 'barefoot' friendly, although you'd have to talk to him! He is very busy though, he now works for WHW training farriers in developing countries as well as having a full book of clients, but he was always happy to see horses for me that required remedial work and could usually fit them in quickly.
