FARRIER IN ABERDEENSHIRE?!

I have just moved my horse from Drumoak to Cushnie and my usual farrier wont come out that far. I have tried about 10 farriers but they either dont pick up the phone (most commonly) or dont have any spaces. My horse is totally desperate to be shod.. Does anyone know of farriers who are taking on clients or that may pick up the phone?

Any that aren't picking up the phone, have you tried texting them?

I'm not Aberdeen but I was like you and tried so many farriers and they are so busy, not taking on clients or I've had no answer. Mentioned it to a couple of people, and the ones that aren't getting back to me, will only get in contact once you've text them.

First time I'd heard of farriers being happy with texts, but can understand why.

It took me 3 weeks of phoning around, to find one.
 
Yeah it seems impossible to get hold of one.. And yes I have text all of them too!! Looks like I will have to find a yard that has a farrier coming and travel over
 
I have just found the farriers register which seems t have everyone on it. Going to try them all tomorrow.. Dont want to be rude and call on a sunday evening lol.
 
Hi i use Sam Thompson, he comes up from Glasgow, very reliable, wouldnt even waste your time txting/leaving messages with most on the list, with the exception of Georgina Miller, who did get back to me but was unable at the time to come out at short notice, Sams number is 07980116969.
 
strange live isnt it , i went to aberdeenshire last year and didnt pick up any work despite advertising and spending fortunes driving around introducing myself to farriers, vets ,riding establishments etc and general living expenses i gave it up as a bad job and started again in lincolnshire

Ditto Sam. He is efficient and no nonsense! I have found it nigh on impossible to get a farrier up here if you are not at a yard and even then, they want easy no fus horses as they are already short on time.
 
Thanks, I have had a few people reccomend Sam but I have managed to get Jemma Carberry for next week, thank god! How much is everyone paying for a full set these days?
 
Help! I am having the same problem!! contacted all of them.. Sam seems the most efficient but he is only coming up next month. starting to worry now, have just sent jemma a text so lets hope she at least replies!! If you guys know of anyone else near inverurie/pitcaple/meikle wartle area then please let me know!!!
