Teresagarsden, reliability is definitely important, in fact the reason I'm looking for a new farrier is because my usual farrier let me down, I waited for an hour and half last night but he didn't turn up and hasn't got back to me or answered my calls or texts. Charming eh!
Thats why I changed, my coloured filly had a foot abscess and my previous farrier promised to come twice, leaving my poor mother in the cold for 4 hours, I know exactly what you mean. Its just not on we understand delays but call and let us know!! Grrrr
Garry even texts me the day before to confirm the time and date ( maybe thats just me ! I am a bit brainless on weekends :O)

RIDmagic, that's not good is it... the least he could of done is called and cancelled your appointment. Unless he is laid up in hospital, then it's not a very good service
Barry Gray always contacts his customers the day before he comes to the yard, as customers can just be as big of a let down as the farrier. Barry does the 10 on our yard when he comes and always texts the day before to remind you that he is coming and at what time... if he is ever late, it's never been more that a minute or two, which is perfectly acceptable, more often than not, he is 5 minutes early
