Farrier in surrey

Trying to find a a farrier in the farnham area of surrey. Our yard has a man called clive but he will not take anymore people on and the farriers we have called wont do our pony because its clives area...we did tell them that but they still said no!
He needs his shoes off asap as the farrier they used before put really bad shoes on so he is slipping and getting sore because the back of the shoe is hiting the frog. I also cant bring him back into work (hopefully in 2/3 weeks time) until they are off.
 
im in exactly the same situation in Northamptonshire, and ive got a comp in a week!

call Greyfriars equine practice and ask them who they can reccomend 01483 811088.
never heard of farriers controlling certain areas, in fact our farrier comes to us in bagshot, from wokingham, 8 or so miles away!
 
Crikey what a mess.... I thought clive would do anyone!!!

There are lots of farriers around though.... I am assuming that you have told them that clive wont take any more on??? (sounds like it)... Is it that other farriers are not willing to go onto the yard (I know a couple have fallen out with some of the yard owners in the area)!!!

You could always suggest that they fone clive to confirm the fact that he wont do him.... and then they may be willing.

we are with sound equine and have contacted greyfriars the farriers we were given said they couldnt do it because of the area! we were shocked about the farriers having certain areas, we moved from the other side of guilford and the farriers were all fine about it, shame our old one will not come out this far

i am really shocked by this. no farrier i know would say "no not my area its joe bloggs area".
i find it absolutely outrageous!
you have the right to chose who services your car, cuts your grass, fix your boiler, but not who cares for your horses feet??????
call chobham forge. THEY will give you the numbers for accredited farriers in your area!
 
I'm in Farnham and I've never heard of Clive. Our yard has quite a few different farriers that come out. I'll PM you the name and number of ours, not sure if he's taking anymore on, but give him a ring and see.
 
Im very close to f'ham and have never heard of clive or clives area either! Have you looked on the farrier registration website, you put in your postcode and it will bring up loads of local farriers and their contact details. If you like you can pm me with the ones closest and i can tell you which ones have good reps and which ones bad!
 
i'm also v close to farnham - i know clive but i wouldn't have him or have him in control of who else would come to my yard! i use jake gregory from cobham - he's fab.
