I am for suggestions for a good farrier for my boy. I am not at all happy with the job my current one is doing and his feet look terrible. He's had remedial work done in the past but we are just going back to square one now. Ideally someone who will look at the balance of the whole foot rather than just banging a shoe on! Thanks

Does he actually turn up for you? I had years of waiting hours and hours beyond the booked time, that's when he turned up at all. A good farrier but not a nice man.

HI, Chris Pailer and Darren Slater the Ashbrook Equine will give you there tel numbers has them for years never lost shoe, very reliable but most of all the horses feet are perfect!!!!! they cover your area too!! and it was the Ashbrook equine hospital that recommended them to me!! xxx

Thanks all for your suggestions - I have called a few and left messages on voice mails etc so waiting for calls - hopefully I will get sorted soon.

Mike has always turned up for me, I ring him if hes more than half an hour over and usually he has been held up by previous client., similar to vets, you have to be relaxed about these things i find.
He's been absolutely fabulous sorting my daughters ponys feet out and recently with my PPID horse who had lami, heartbars and resin, always chatty and forthcoming about dumb questions i ask about hooves :)
Would recommend him anyday compared to several other farriers I tried 7 yrs ago!
