Hi , due to my farrier being injured (not by my lad!) and unable to work I need to find a good farrier who covers the Ashbourne to Wirksworth area of Derbyshire. Looking for recommendations! Thanks.

I've not had a horse for 5 years but we always used Rob Lewis. I have seen him driving round so assume he is still working.

Message Dexter Strickland, he isn't taking on shoeing jobs but is taking on trimming jobs. He will be able to point you in the right direction of someone if it's shoeing you need

Thanks for suggestions so far - Highmileagecob-it is both as my lad has fronts only. Wispagold - Rob is one that I have messaged to enquire as he is on the farrier register but not heard back.

If Mark Johnson travels as far as you then I'd recommend him in a heartbeat. Based I think Northants/Leics borders type area.

Tia Lewis is his daughter. If you google her name you will find her website and contact details. It might be worth dropping her a message as she will be able to tell you if Rob is taking on new customers, but she can also probably recommend someone else locally if not.
