Farriers - advice please - also in Scotland

hi all

I need a farrier to come and do some remedial shoeing and wondered if anyone knows about the two names I have been given.


Ross Philip?
William Brookes?


My current farrier is retiring so I'm looking for someone else, my horse has very low heels in front (current farrier not really altered it much) and I'd like to discuss it with the next one.

Can anyone recommend or advise? happy for private PM.

Whereabouts are you? I'm in Aberdeenshire, can recommend some good ones up here if you're near, but not much help further south I'm afraid!

jim ferrie/ferry does remedial at glasgow vet school.
my farrier is based just outside Ayr and does remedial shoeing - Kevin moriarty

Glasgow too far for me sorry.

I have been given the names above so was just looking for some more info on them if poss. I can't find anything online and just wondered if anyone on here used them and have had remedial work done with them.

Kevin will travel - he comes up to ingliston to do my three and has worked wonders with one of them.
Timbi was crippled by a bad farrier and ended up with mechanical laminitis. Kevin worked with our vet and put pads and fillers on his front feet to try to repair the damage that had been done.

I found my good farrier through my (also good) vet. Maybe your vet could recommend someone?

It's much easier to get under-run heels to grow out without shoes on.
