Hi everyone

Do any of you use Farriers Formula and is it true that it can help with mane and tail growth?

I was thinking of perhaps getting some for my cob but as it is very expensive I don't really want to fork out if it is no good.

Thanks in advance for any advice/comments.

Dont use Farriers Forumla but use Formula 4 Feet which is a very similar thing and it's impoved my ponys feet amazingly he's been on it (around 2years) he hasnt lost any shoes and before he was losing them all the time.

I do know people who've also used Farriers Formula and found it good but my farrier always recommends Formula 4 Feet hence why we use that.

Have also heard it's good for mane and tail growth but dont know if it's true or not. From just reading a bit of info from the farriers formula site it sounds as if it does though.

Saying "If the goal is to grow a long and flowing healthy mane and tail, the replenishment level should be fed until the mane and tail reach the desired length."

Hooves are made from keratin (sp?) just like manes, tails and all the other hair on the horse! So it would make sense that a hoof formula would improve hair quality as well as hoof quality. :)

I use farriers formula and it has helped with the condition of hooves, can't say I've noticed any diffrence really in main and tail as I've used farrier formula from day one of having this horse. But he does have a thick and fast growing main (:
