I'v never used this but have used Formula For Feet before as a boost and the lam clinic recommend. My farrier told me to hose water on hooves to prevent cracking/splitting which in his opinion is better than hoof moists, which i do if I bring them in for a bit, otherwise daily they get a bit of kevin bacon painted on when in field.
It works for some, but didn't work for my boy.
I find that shoeing every 5 weeks in the summer and being really watchful about cracking and foot balancing helps my boy.
Mine wouldn't eat either Farriers Formula or Formula4Feet. I understand that they're both very good, but extremely expensive, especially to end up in the bed. I'm feeding 'Farrier's Favourite, which is powder based, not quite as expensive, and seems to be helping.
id highly recommend NAF profeet liquid, its much cheaper and you see results much quicker. my ISH is on it and went up a shoe size in 4 months and has gone from needing to be shod every 5 weeks max to making it well into 6+ weeks. he also gets kevin bacon hoof dressing painted on in summer or if its particularly dry and his feet have never been better
The farrier recommended it for a horse on our yard I was looking after, it cost an absoloute fortune and although I didn't see much of a difference my farrier wanted to horse to continue eating it. He was fine about eating, but he wasn't a fussy eater.
hi i use this for my tb with terrible feet, and they have improved alot, he hasnt lost a shoe in a long time ,and the foot looks much more healthy than before...you have to use it for 6 months at least before you notice much of a change though..
Not tried that one - I use GWF Farriers Aid and apply good old cornucresine & found that combination has made a huge improvement to my girls feet which are very prone to cracks and splits.
I used it, IMO stupidly overpriced and it hasnt worked at all on my boy, he had no growth at all all winter whilst on it, since coming off it (ironically) and going onto some spring grass hes grown loads of foot
I used to use it for my TB who had the typical TB bad feet, and it did take about 4-6months to really have an affect - it did help a lot, along with shoeeing every 5 weeks and using Kevin Bacon daily.
I dont use it now cos my cob doesnt need it but I did find it to be the best for my TB at that time.....
I would say you do need to give whatever you try time to kick in......best of luck with it! Iknow what its like to have poor feet and regularly spending ages looking for shoes in the field!
